Library Instruction and Research Guides
I am available for library instruction sessions (in-person or virtual) which can be customized to the needs of the students and assignments. This might include a general introduction to library resources or a more specific focus on library databases and tools.
- There is an electronic classroom in the library that has 24 seats available, or I can come to your classroom.
- A course specific research guide will be created to accompany the instruction. Examples of these guides can be found at: https://libguides.rutgers.edu/prf.php?id=59558e79-7cdb-11ed-9922-0ad758b798c3
- Please contact me to arrange for instruction and/or a research guide for your courses.
- Please encourage your students to contact me with any research needs.

Teaching and Research
The library provides assistance and support for Readings Lists and Reserves
OAT, Open and Affordable Textbooks Program: Through OAT, the Libraries award research funds ($2500) to Rutgers faculty who redesign their courses to use free or low-cost materials or who create a new open textbook. Details can be found at this link.
We continue to add to a growing list of open access publishing opportunities with agreements that waive the APCs.Artificial Intelligence
The library has research guides on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. I take a critical approach to Generative AI and do not work with any AI products, I provide workshops and instruction on how and why to avoid generative AI. The library however does provides support for AI in different ways, please contact me with any questions and I will refer you to the appropriate librarian.
- Critical, skeptical and ethical approaches to Generative AI (This is guide on critical approaches to using Generative AI which can be added to course guides. It can be modified to match your class expectations on AI)
- Rutgers Library Guide: Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Generative AI Features in Major Databases and Platforms (these are being added by vendors with few options to disable and are NOT recommended or ENDORSED by your liaison librarian)
